Tastefully Simple's annual convention, Partypalooza, was held last week, and there is so much that is new and fun to share with you all!  I'm not even sure where to start, but I suppose the biggest announcement is an update to the Tastefully Simple logo and branding.  The logo hasn't been updated since the company started 18 years ago, and the taglines and packaging haven't been updated in a few years, so it all adds up to a brand new fresh look in 2013!

Skinny Dipping with Tastefully Simple - The Event!

At most parties, I have at least one guest, usually more, who is interested in using Tastefully Simple products as part of a healthy eating plan, whether it's Weight Watchers, Paleo, vegetarian, or something else.  I've decided to do a virtual event on Facebook to share tips and recipes that prove that Tastefully Simple products can be super healthy!

"Skinny Dipping" with Tastefully Simple - Make it Light!

Tastefully Simple has a wide variety of delicious products.  While many products, like our seasonings, add a ton of flavor without fat to your meals, we do have products that are delicious, but may have more fat or calories than you're comfortable with.  For example, when making our Absolutely Almond Pound Cake, the recipe calls for 3/4c of butter.  Yes, that's 1 1/2 sticks.  While the final result is delicious, it's certainly not health food.

However, it is possible to go "skinny dipping" with Tastefully Simple products.  There are a ton of variations that can help you cut the fat and calories from the standard preparation, while still indulging in a delicious product.  Here's a few suggestions to cut the calories and fat from some of our products:

• Bountiful Beer Bread - Skip the melted butter on top and otherwise prepare with beer normally and bake.  Or, replace the beer with a can of seltzer to cut even more calories.
• Truffle Fudge Brownies - I've shared this one before: instead of butter and eggs, puree one can of black beans (undrained) in your food processor, then combine with brownie mix, pour into pan and bake.
• Absolutely Almond Pound Cake - Add 1 cup water, 3/4 cup applesauce, and 1 oz package of sugar free vanilla pudding mix and bake as directed.  Or, just add one 20-oz can of crushed pineapple to the cake mix spread into a greased 9x13 pan and bake for 30 minutes at 375F.  I've also heard some consultants only using the 1c of water and baking as directed.
• Dips, like Onion Onion or Garlic Garlic - Normally, our dips are made with 1/2 sour cream and 1/2 mayo.  You can easily use reduced fat sour cream or fat free sour cream.  I personally don't like to use low-fat or fat free mayo, as the texture of the dip changes.  I've also heard of some consultants skipping the sour cream and mayo altogether and using only plain greek yogurt, but I have not yet tried this myself.
• Drink Buckets like Outrageous Orange Mojito - Many customers think that the drink buckets are on the sweet side.  When I make a drink bucket for myself, I only use half of the mix packet.  This way I'm only using half the sugar, it still tastes great, and I can make it again later.

Happy Anniversary to Me!

One year ago today, I took the plunge and signed up to be a Tastefully Simple consultant!  I remember diving right into the online training, and feeling like it was Christmas when my Business Blast-off Kit arrived about a week later.  I've held a lot of parties over the last year, and the incredible part is all of the awesome people that I've met.  Those of you that know me in person know that I'm very much an introvert, but Tastefully Simple has helped me to get out and meet some amazing people who are more than willing to support my business by hosting parties and buying our delicious products.

The other awesome part of joining Tastefully Simple is the team of consultants I became a part of.  My sponsor Rosanne and my Team Leader Angela have nearly 20 years of Tastefully Simple experience between them, and I love all of my Decadent Diva sisters!

My second year is looking to be even better.  A good friend is planning to join my team soon, and I have another repeat host and customer who is thinking of joining my team too!  I'll be transitioning from consultant to leader, and I am super excited about that!  Does that mean I'll have less emphasis on selling our delicious foods?  No way!  In fact I'm gearing up for a huge summer and fall, and I want to party!  I held my first Facebook party last week, and boy was that super fun.  While you and your guests don't get to taste the food, it's the next best thing to attending an in-home tasting party.  I'm booking in-home tasting parties in Central Massachusetts, and I can help you with fundraisers for your favorite charity.

Tastefully Simple has a tag line for its business opportunity, "Experience a Delicious Life". To celebrate my one-year anniversary, HQ sent me a card and included this bumper sticker. I will fully admit when I joined that I thought the tag line was kind of cheesy, but after a year, I've found that I am in fact leading a delicious and satisfying life due to Tastefully Simple!

After the Memorial Day weekend, the summer season is officially here!  And June is party time for Tastefully Simple.  June is Tastefully Simple's birthday month, and Tastefully Simple is celebrating 18 years of delicious easy to prepare foods.
